A full day of performances!  We will perform pre-parade, in the parade, on the main stage, AND after-party!  Come join us for one and/or all of the festivities on Sunday, May 16!

  • 7 a.m. 9:00 a.m. – Check-in with Gilbert begins at the Parade Start at Ocean and Lindero…and bring your $5 participation fee! (See Parade Route.) . You can arrive from this point on especially those who want to get made up done.  There will be 2 volunteer makeup artists available for those who need help.  (Please feel free to bring some donation for the artists as they are donating their time and supplies to make us horrifying.)  But if you’re confidence with your make up skills, put on your game face just in case we don’t have time to make up everyone.
  • 9:30 a.m. – We get ready for our first performance.
  • 10:15 a.m. – Performance at Parade Central. (Ocean between Cherry and Junipero).
  • 10:30 a.m. – Back to Parade Start to get ready for the Parade.  The Parade is a straight 1.3 mile walk.  We should wrap up by 12:30.  Those who want to stay for the afternoon performance will have a few hours to get make up re-touched, get lunch, etc.
  • 3:00 p.m. – Meet back at Main Stage at the Festival.  We can only have 20 dancers at this performance.
  • 3:30 p.m. – Performance on Main Stage.
  • 4:00 p.m. – It’s a wrap!

You can go about the Festival if you’d like but you’ll need to buy a ticket. $20 dollars (Buy online to avoid long lines)

WARDROBE:

Since it is GAY PRIDE what better way of incorporating zombies than with colors, having all of us (ONLY IF YOU CAN) dress up in colors of the rainbow gay flag: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and lilac.  So if you can wear any of these colors for your tops then when were at the parade we’ll mix people up depending on the color you brought. If not, you can wear your regular zombie attire.

PARADE MODIFICATION OF THE DANCE:

Basically for the dance any part that requires us to go back we won’t be turning back so when were supposed to go back eight steps we will go eight more steps to the front, when were sliding for the clap we slide diagonally either left or right to keep it moving front, rock on moves up too, Waz Up definitely moves front as free as you want. It’s the six minute version of “Thriller” were dancing to on all the three events.  (And yes, we’ll go through the moves that morning too.)

PARKING:

There are 3 parking lots around the Parade and Festival, 2 of them on Long Beach & Broadway.  Parking is $9 and you can buy online in advance.

PUBLIC TRANSPORATION:

The Metro Blue Line Train is a perfect alternative to driving and passes right near the whole festival grounds for a cost of $1.25 or $5 all day ticket. The Blue line is a connecting line with the Gold (If you live in Pasadena or East LA) and the RED (If you live in Mid Wilshire, Hollywood and North Hollywood).  There are also local Long Beach Transit Passport bus to get you from other area of Long Beach (easier parking) to the Parade area for $1.25.
