About Us

How we began…

Thrill the World (TTW) started out in 2006 as a “cool idea” by Ines Markelle with only 62 dancers in Canada paying tribute to the King of Pop, Michael Jackson.  The team set the First Guinness World Record for the “Largest Thriller Dance In One Location” and since this event has exploded into an international dance phenomenon.

In 2007, TTW went world wide, 1,722 dancers in 52 cities on 5 continents. Setting two world records for Largest Simultaneous Thriller Dance with the World Records Academy & the Record Holders Republic.

In 2008, Thrill The World Los Angeles (TTWLA) was formed by Mahdroo McCaleb and Amanda Ayres and held it’s first annual “Thriller” dance event  and stomped through the Hollywood & Highland Center with 112 zombified dancers.

In 2009, The Thrill The World movement went viral! Led by Amanda Ayres, Oakley Boren and Nayla Wren, nearly 2000 dancers thrilled LA Live in downtown Los Angeles.  TTWLA danced for its first charity partner, Inner City Arts.

About mid 2010, TTWLA reorganized with a new management team.  With Elena Manzanares as the Event Manager and an incredibly supportive team; TTWLA realized the impact Thrill the World Los Angeles can have.  They began to see a greater vision and focus on giving back to the surrounding communities.

TTWLA will continue to participate in the annual worldwide record breaking attempt and will continue to pay tribute to a great artist and dedicated humanitarian -  Michael Jackson.  TTWLA will continue to spread peace, love and charity through the art of dance.  Not only with Thriller performances and Flash Mobs, but with other artist’s songs and dances.

Who are the dancers?…

TTWLA dancers are not professional,  but we are comprised of fun loving, average people of all ages, from all walks of life.   We are united with a common desire to entertain the public and support various charities that service the needs of our communities.

TTWLA participates in the annual, worldwide attempt to set the new world record for the most people to do Michael Jackson’s Thriller dance simultaneously around the world.  Towards this goal, we will at no cost, teach anyone how to do the dance so they too can take part in this world-wide event.
